Probably the lightest, but definitely the smallest
Lofoten 2 ULW, with a minimum weight of 500 g, is one of the world’s lightest 2-person tents with two layers – but packed it is definitely the smallest. Its secret is the, state of the art, aluminum poles with ultra-short segments, which allow a pack size of only 11 x 22 cm when uncompressed. The fabric is the new Nortech T-NY 7D with a weight of only 26 g/m2 with a thread count of 580. The 3-layer silicone coating on each side ensures high resistance as well as water-repellent properties and the new Nordisk Flex-Rope Suspension System also adds flexibility and strength. It can convert from a 1-person to a 2-person tent by simply swapping out the inner tent.

The story behind the name
Lofoten is a group of islands within the Arctic Circle in the Norwegian province of Nordland. Measured by the altitude of its latitude, it has one of the highest positive temperature anomalies on earth. Lofoten means “foot of the lynx”, probably in reference to the shape of the island. The neighboring island of Flakstadøya was originally called Vargfót, which means ‘foot of a wolf’.
